The firm was established by Thomas F. Burke, a former Philadelphia homicide prosecutor and assistant district attorney who spent over ten years in the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office — including in its homicide unit — and has built a criminal defense practice since leaving the DA's office in 2003. The firm's attorneys, Thomas F. Burke and Dawn DiDonato-Burke, are former prosecutors who handle criminal defense and civil rights matters, and the firm intentionally maintains a small size so that clients work directly with the attorneys rather than junior associates or paralegals. Mr. Burke is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and the federal courts.
